Biography

Sudhakar D. Deshmukh is a Professor Emeritus of Operations at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. His academic pursuits focus on operations management, analytical decision modeling, and business analytics, especially within MBA and EMBA programs. He has extensive experience teaching at the doctoral level, notably in stochastic processes and optimal statistical decisions. His research interests center on probabilistic stochastic optimization models that involve decision-making under time uncertainty, with applications in management science and economics. His research has been published in various prestigious scholarly journals, such as Management Science, Operations Research, and Econometrica. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University, India, a Master's in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley. Professor Deshmukh's notable academic contributions include being a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS).
