Biography

Professor Margaret Dalton serves in the School of Law at the University of San Diego. She specializes in Education Law, Special Education Disability Law, Family Law, Health Law, and Child Advocacy, and supervises the Education Law Externship. Dalton has held various administrative roles, including Associate Dean and Interim Dean at the Dean's Office. She has extensive experience in clinical education, having been the Director of Legal Clinics and has doubled the number of clinics during her tenure. Dalton’s professional contributions include serving on the Special Education Advisory Committee and the State Bar Trust Fund Program’s IOLTA Restructuring Committee. Her awards include the Bernard E. Witkin Award for Excellence in Legal Education and recognition as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. Dalton has published significant works, including a book chapter on Special Education Law and articles in notable journals. Her research and publications have garnered attention from major media outlets, reflecting her expertise in her field.
