Moritz Hardt is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley. His research aims to make the practice of machine learning robust, reliable, and aligned with societal values. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Princeton University in 2011. Following his doctoral studies, Hardt was a postdoctoral scholar and research staff member at IBM Research Almaden. He later worked as a research scientist at Google Research, specifically in Google Brain, where he focused on advancements in machine learning technologies.
