Biography

Dov Fox is the Herzog Research Professor of Law at the University of San Diego and the Founding Director of USD's Center for Health Law Policy & Bioethics. He specializes in constitutional history, criminal law, and torts, with over 80 scholarly articles published in leading law journals such as the Harvard Law Review and Yale Law Journal. His research has also appeared in prestigious science and medical publications like Nature, Science, and the New England Journal of Medicine. Professor Fox's works include significant books on health law and ethics, as well as numerous opinion essays in prominent media outlets. He has served in various prestigious roles, including as a law clerk for the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt and at notable firms like Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and McKinsey & Company. In recognition of his contributions to legal scholarship, he has been awarded several honors including the title of Professor of the Year for outstanding scholarship and teaching excellence. Additionally, his work in translational medicine and artificial intelligence has received major funding from federal agencies and leading philanthropies, underscoring his impact on public health policy.
