Dr. Zhiliang (Julia) Fan is a Professor in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of California, Davis. Her primary research interests involve advancing technologies for the production of fuels and chemicals from renewable resources. She specializes in metabolic engineering and biocatalyst development, alongside fermentation process development and modeling, as well as biological chemical process design and economic evaluation. Dr. Fan's current research is particularly focused on novel processes for ethanol and isobutanol production from cellulosic materials.
