Professor Weisbord’s teaching and scholarship focus on law and wealth transfer, exploring a broad range of legal fields including property, nonprofit organizations, and entertainment. He has published over 50 scholarly articles, essays, and books that have been cited by state supreme courts and the American Law Institute Restatements. Professor Weisbord co-authored the leading textbook 'Wills, Trusts, Estates: Essentials' and the encyclopedic treatise 'Estate Planning' published in 1953. He joined the Rutgers faculty in 2010 and served as Vice Dean from 2013 to 2019. His contributions to the legal academy have been recognized with several awards, including the Greg Lastowka Memorial Award for Scholarly Excellence and the Rutgers Law School Distinguished Service Award. Additionally, he serves as associate editor of the ACTEC Law Journal and as chair-elect of the Trusts & Estates Section of the American Association of Law Schools. Professor Weisbord received his Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He clerked for Judge Jane R. Roth of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and late Judge Norma L. Shapiro of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
