Dr. Methodius Tuuli

Biography

Methodius Tuuli is the Chace-Joukowsky Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He also serves as the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Women & Infants Hospital, part of the Care New England Health System. Dr. Tuuli is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine, with a research focus on predicting and preventing adverse obstetric outcomes. His work includes leading NIH-funded randomized trials aimed at addressing issues such as postpartum hemorrhage management and improving glycemic control in overweight and obese women with gestational diabetes. His research also addresses the social determinants of health in maternal care. Dr. Tuuli has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals and has been recognized with numerous awards for his contributions to research in obstetrics and gynecology. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Ghana Medical School and has advanced training in public health and business. Dr. Tuuli is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, reflecting his influential role in advancing maternal health equity through high-impact research and mentorship.
