Biography

Bhaskara R. Jasti earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1987 from Kakatiya University, Warangal, India, followed by a Master of Pharmacy from Jadavpur University in Calcutta, India in 1989. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy at the University of the Pacific in 1995. Dr. Jasti is a professor and the Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of the Pacific. He is also the Executive Director of the Jie Du Center for Innovation Excellence in Drug Development. Dr. Jasti has been actively involved with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the Controlled Release Society, being named a Fellow of AAPS in 2009. His contributions to the field have earned him the title of Distinguished Faculty at the University of the Pacific in 2017, along with the Faculty Research Lecturer award in 2010. He is dedicated to fostering a collaborative teaching atmosphere and aims to train practice-ready graduates. His research focus lies in designing and developing novel drug delivery systems, particularly in oral mucosal and targeted drug delivery, as well as biodegradable systems and pharmacokinetics. Dr. Jasti is also involved in community outreach to promote quality science education among high school students and enjoys playing golf and tennis.
