Branko Glisic is a Chair Professor of Civil Environmental Engineering at Princeton University. He holds concurrent appointments as a Faculty Associate at the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies and has associated faculty positions at the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment, as well as the Princeton Institute for Science and Technology of Materials (PRISM). Glisic's research specializes in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), focusing on advanced sensing technologies, universal SHM methods, and data analysis and management. His work involves the development and application of long-gauge distributed fiber optic sensors, large area electronics, radio frequency tags, and ground penetrating radar technologies. Additionally, he applies machine learning techniques for structural material identification and the prediction of unusual structural behaviors. His research extends to various types of structures, including bridges, buildings, and historical monuments. Glisic has received several accolades for his contributions to the field, including being named an ISHMII Fellow and receiving the Structural Health Monitoring Person of the Year Award. He is committed to integrating innovative technologies into engineering practices and education.
