Biography

Ariel Ann Blanchard is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, specializing in Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. She has been involved in various clinical research projects focused on improving preoperative care in patients undergoing cardiac transplant preparations, particularly the dental clearance pathway crucial for successful outcomes. Her recent publications include studies on the management of oral mucositis and the effects of topical benzydamine and morphine among clinicians, highlighting significant adverse effects and barriers faced in treatment. Additionally, she has contributed to the understanding of osteonecrosis in patients treated with denosumab for metastatic tumors, sharing insights from a series of thirteen cases. Blanchard is also a co-investigator on a comprehensive study funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, evaluating effectiveness of interventions in the dental setting from 2021 to 2028. Her work is dedicated to enhancing patient care through innovative approaches in oral health and surgery.
