Biography

Todd Przybycien is an accomplished professor in the field of chemical and biological engineering. He began his professional career at Monsanto Agricultural Company and spent a considerable time in industry before returning to academia. He served on the faculty at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for eight years and then dedicated 20 years to Carnegie Mellon University, where he was the founding head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. In August 2018, he re-joined the faculty at Rensselaer. He holds undergraduate degrees in chemical engineering and chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as a master's and Ph.D. in chemical engineering with a minor in biology from the California Institute of Technology. His research interests include biomaterials, biomedical engineering, biomolecular engineering, bioprocessing, bioseparations, and drug delivery.
