Allen Shek, PharmD, is a seasoned professional in pharmacy education with a distinguished career at the University of the Pacific since 1999. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York in 1991, he obtained his PharmD from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1998, followed by completing a PGY2 primary care residency at the same institution. Dr. Shek's current role is as the Associate Dean of Professional Programs, focusing on the integration of Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE), enhancing experiential programs, and fostering collaboration amongst faculty. His teachings emphasize active learning and critical thinking, essential for student success.
