Biography

Adam Hemlock is an accomplished lecturer at Columbia Law School, where he specializes in teaching international cartels. He is also a partner in the antitrust practice group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he provides extensive legal representation in civil and criminal antitrust investigations, litigations, and commercial disputes. Hemlock has garnered a reputation as a Rising Star in his field, being recognized by Chambers Legal 500 for his expertise in antitrust matters. His practice frequently involves representing clients in criminal antitrust investigations conducted by the Department of Justice, and he has served as lead coordinating counsel for clients under investigation across multiple jurisdictions, including the European Union, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Brazil. In addition to his work in cartel litigation, he litigates various private antitrust cases involving disputes related to exclusivity, bundling, tying, and joint ventures. Hemlock is actively engaged in the American Bar Association’s antitrust section, where he currently serves as vice-chair of the cartel criminal practice committee and has previously held the position of vice-chair of the intellectual property committee. He is also dedicated to supporting legal education and practice diversity as a member of the board of directors for the Practicing Attorneys for Law Students Program, Inc., and a member of the New York City Hispanic affinity group. Additionally, he leads his firm’s asylum practice team, representing asylum applicants in administrative proceedings with the Department of Homeland Security and in federal courts.
