Syed Rizvi is a professor of Information Sciences Technology at Penn State Altoona. He received his Doctorate in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Bridgeport in 2010. His research interests lie at the intersection of computer networking and network security, with a focus on modeling and simulation. He works on security issues such as rogue access point detection and cognitive radios in wireless communications, as well as modeling and simulating nano-networks. In the past, he has been involved in the design, analysis, implementation, and comparison of algorithms in areas including wireless and multiuser communications, wireless sensor networks, information security, and parallel or distributed systems. He has authored or co-authored 70 technical papers, non-refereed conference papers, international journal articles, and book chapters on research and pedagogical techniques. Additionally, he is an affiliate member of the Wireless Mobile Communications lab at the University of Bridgeport.
