Dr. Christine Sorkness

Biography

Christine Sorkness is a Professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, where she has been a faculty member since 1979. She previously served at the State University of New York at Buffalo. As a clinical investigator in the Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Division, Dr. Sorkness directs the Clinical Research at the Morris Institute of Respiratory Research and the Anticoagulation Clinic at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. She is a preceptor for the ASHP-accredited Primary Care Pharmacy Residency at the Veterans Hospital and contributes to the ASHP Research Education Foundation Antithrombotic Therapy Training Program, in addition to conducting elective ambulatory clerkships. Dr. Sorkness is involved as a co-investigator in research protocols that evaluate the efficacy and safety of therapeutic agents for asthma and allergic diseases. She is also an investigator in the NHLBI-funded Asthma Clinical Research Network and the Childhood Asthma Research Education Network, along with the NIAID-funded Inner-City Asthma Consortium. Dr. Sorkness serves as the Senior Associate Director of the University of Wisconsin Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
