Peter Eichhubl is a Research Professor at the Bureau of Economic Geology, Jackson School of Geosciences, University of Texas at Austin. His research combines the fields of fault fracture mechanics and low-temperature geochemistry, focusing on deformation mechanisms in the upper crust, structural control of mass heat transfer in sedimentary basins, and the effects of chemical mass transfer on the mechanical and hydraulic behavior of fractures and faults. Additionally, his applied research interests encompass geothermal and fossil energy resources, as well as the underground storage of hydrogen and CO2. His investigations further explore the fundamental aspects of seismic and aseismic deformation in Earth's upper crust and the interactions of subsurface fluids with the atmosphere and biosphere.
