Gary Troia is a Professor in the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Special Education at Michigan State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Maryland, which he obtained in 2000. Before earning his doctorate, he worked for ten years as a public school special educator and speech-language pathologist. Additionally, he has six years of experience as a university clinical supervisor. Troia is actively involved in academic publishing as a co-editor of the journal Topics in Language Disorders and serves on the editorial boards of leading special education journals. His work primarily focuses on special education, language disorders, and their intersection with clinical practice.
