Dr. Imogen Coe

Biography

Imogen Coe is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biology at Toronto Metropolitan University. She is recognized for her research in the fields of equity, diversity, and inclusion in science, and her work on nucleoside analog drug transport proteins. As a NSERC Scholar, Dr. Coe contributes significantly to her field while also focusing on enhancing the representation of diverse groups in scientific research. She served as the President of the Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences from 2020 to 2022, advocating for the interests and development of molecular biosciences in Canada. Dr. Coe's academic career is marked by her commitment to promoting an inclusive culture within the scientific community and her dedication to mentoring the next generation of scientists. She holds a PhD from the University of Victoria, BC, and has a strong academic foundation with an MSc from 1987 and a BSc (Hons) from the University of Exeter, UK.
