Biography

Marina L. Maes, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP, is an Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2017. Following graduation, Dr. Maes completed a general practice residency at Michigan Medicine/University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and a specialty residency focused on ambulatory care at the University of Colorado. A board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and ambulatory care pharmacist, her clinical focus includes managing endocrine conditions within primary care settings, particularly diabetes, weight management, and women's health. In academia, Dr. Maes is dedicated to bridging classroom learning with practical applications in patient care and coordinates didactic, skills, and experiential courses for third-year PharmD students. Her research primarily involves the scholarship of teaching and learning in pharmacy education. Dr. Maes has received multiple teaching awards, including Teacher of the Year from UW-Madison and the Lab Innovation Teaching Excellence Award from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. She is an active member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and has served as an officer in the Women's Health Practice Research Network since 2019.
