Maddalena Ronchi is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Kellogg School of Management. Her research interests are in applied microeconomics, focusing on labor finance and understanding how labor market frictions affect workers’ career trajectories and corporate behavior. She explores gender inequalities in labor market outcomes, emphasizing the role of gender attitudes in shaping employment gaps, earnings, and occupational choices. Ronchi analyzes how labor market frictions constraining firms' hiring and wage-setting decisions impact corporate outcomes, including the ability of firms to attract and retain talent, as well as their growth prospects. Her research methodology primarily employs employer-employee matched data and quasi-experimental designs.
