Biography

Ahmet Guler is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at Pennsylvania State University. He has a Ph.D. from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University Albany, obtained in 2009. His research interests are focused on various aspects of criminal justice policy, including policing, terrorism, and criminal justice reform. Guler has contributed extensively to the academic literature with numerous publications in reputable journals, exploring topics such as the impact of body-worn camera footage on police investigations, the factors influencing public support for reforms in police policies, and the association between online information dissemination and support for terrorist organizations. His work often examines the implications of information technology within the criminal justice system and the societal responses to transnational crime. Guler engages in interdisciplinary collaboration, drawing insights from sociology, political science, and law enforcement studies to inform policy decisions and educational curricula.
