Biography

Thomas E. Wilson, MD, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School. His research interests are centered on molecular genetics, particularly related to the mechanisms of chromosomal instability and the role of genomic technologies in understanding human diseases. Wilson actively mentors diverse trainees and leads classes in UROP research projects, focusing on molecular genetics and bioinformatics. He is also involved in various clinical applications aimed at enhancing detection in genomic laboratories. Dr. Wilson’s clinical and research endeavors emphasize the importance of advancing genetic knowledge to combat mutations associated with human diseases.
