Biography

Gennaro Sansone is an Adjunct Professor at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, specializing in Management of Transit Operations and Maintenance. He has an extensive background in the rail transit sector, having worked for New York City Transit (NYCT) for over 37 years, where he held various leadership roles including Chief Mechanical Officer and Assistant Chief Mechanical Officer. He was integral in implementing new technologies in rail vehicles and led the engineering efforts for significant vehicle procurements, totaling 3,500 subway cars. His expertise extends to procurement processes and vehicle engineering, and he has been a consultant on major projects across numerous transit agencies. In addition to his teaching role, he is actively involved in research with interests focusing on Program and Project Management in large-scale procurements of technologically advanced rail vehicles.
