Dr. Michael Rennie

Associate Professor

Biography

Michael Rennie is an Associate Professor at Lakehead University and holds a Canada Research Chair in Freshwater Ecology. His research focuses on community ecology, bioenergetics, fish ecology, and aquatic ecology. He investigates how human activities, such as climate change and species invasions, impact aquatic ecosystems. Rennie's lab aims to understand the role of multiple stressors on community structure and ecosystem energetics, and how the behavior and life histories of aquatic organisms can influence population sizes and ecosystem structures. He has held various academic positions and has contributed significantly to the understanding of ecosystem responses to stressors.
