Biography

Drew Steen is an Associate Professor in the departments of Biological Sciences and Earth Sciences at USC Dornsife. His research focuses on marine sciences and involves studying various aspects of marine ecosystems and their dynamics. He completed his Ph.D. in Marine Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August 2009, after which he was a Postdoctoral Associate at Aarhus University from September 2009 to December 2012. His work emphasizes the interplay between biological and geological processes in marine environments. Steen integrates fieldwork with experimental approaches to address complex ecological questions, contributing significantly to the understanding of marine life and its responses to environmental changes. He is dedicated to enhancing student learning and engagement in the sciences through innovative teaching methods and active research involvement.
