Jessica M. Eaglin joined the faculty of Cornell Law School on July 1, 2023. She is a leading expert on the intersection of algorithms and criminal sentencing and her research examines the expansion of technical legal practices in response to the economic and social pressures related to mass incarceration. Eaglin's articles and essays have been published in prominent journals including the Cornell Law Review, Stanford Law Review Online, and Washington University Law Review. Prior to her current position, she was a Professor at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law and served as counsel for the Justice Program at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law, where she assisted in a national campaign aimed at addressing mass incarceration in the United States. Earlier in her career, Eaglin clerked for the Honorable Damon J. Keith of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and began her law career as a Litigation Associate with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, LLP in New York City.
