Biography

Jonathan D’Silva is the Director of the Intellectual Property Law Clinic at Penn State Dickinson Law. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Law and was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York, Washington D.C., and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He founded and is the principal of a solo boutique law firm, MMI Intellectual Property, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, providing global intellectual property counsel to multinational corporations, universities, small businesses, and individual inventors. In addition to practicing law, Jonathan frequently gives presentations and lectures on intellectual property to students and the public at colleges, universities, and economic development organizations. He also hosts a monthly Ask-Me-Anything session on Intellectual Property at the Erie County Public Library. As a community leader, he is the Lead Curator of the TEDxErie event and is the Vice President of the Board for the Purple Martin Conservation Association. Before attending law school, Jonathan worked as a consulting engineer at Malcolm Pirnie, Inc., focusing on environmental engineering. He has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Cornell University.
