Biography

Daniel T. Coghlin is a Professor of Pediatrics and a Clinician Educator at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, providing significant contributions to the field of pediatric hospital medicine since joining Hasbro Children's Hospital's pediatric hospitalist group in January 2009. With a background as a general pediatrician for eight years, Dr. Coghlin has excelled in educating families and fostering communication with primary care providers. His research interests are primarily in clinical informatics, specifically in improving discharge-related workflows and communication. Dr. Coghlin earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine in 1998 and completed his pediatric training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2001. Since beginning his career, he has received multiple accolades for his teaching excellence, including several Teaching Awards from the Pediatric Residency Program at Alpert Medical School. With roles like Physician Lead in Pediatric Clinical Informatics and Chair of Lifespan's Physician Informatics Council, he has demonstrated leadership in the integration of clinical informatics into pediatric care.
