Kati Griffith is the Jean Mckelvey-Alice Grant Professor at Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Her research is primarily focused on the intersection of immigration and workplace law, particularly legal issues affecting low-wage workers. She is a co-author of the textbook 'Labor Law: Cases, Materials, Problems' and has published in prestigious journals such as the California Law Review and the Cornell Law Review. Griffith has twice received the Cornell ILR MacIntyre Award for Exemplary Teaching and was selected as an Influential Faculty Member for the Merrill Presidential Scholars program. In 2018, she was named a Stephen H. Weiss Junior Fellow, which is awarded for excellence in teaching. Before joining Cornell in Fall 2007, she completed a Skadden Fellowship as a Staff Attorney at the Workers’ Rights Law Center of New York. She also served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Rosemary S. Pooler of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Griffith earned her J.D. cum laude from NYU School of Law, where she was a Root Tilden Public Interest Scholar and received the Sol D. Kapelsohn Prize for excellence in writing in the field of labor law. She has also conducted research on women workers and labor law in Mexico and was a Rotary Scholar in El Salvador and a Fulbright Scholar.
