Professor Matwyshyn is a prominent figure in the fields of Law and Engineering Policy, with extensive experience in Cybersecurity, Antitrust Law, and Internet Law. She serves as the Founding Faculty Director of the Penn State PILOT Lab and the Manglona Lab for Gender Economic Equity. Through her career, she has held primary appointments at esteemed institutions such as the University of Pennsylvania and Northwestern University. As a leader in her field, she founded the Center for Information Research in 2005 and co-founded the Center for Law, Innovation, and Creativity (CLIC) in 2017. Professor Matwyshyn has also held visiting positions at prestigious universities including the University of Oxford and Princeton University.
