Eric Sampson is an Assistant Professor in the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University. He focuses on Ethics and Epistemology in his research. His academic journey began with a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee, followed by a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Eric has held postdoctoral positions at Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics from 2020 to 2021 and at Rhodes College from 2021 to 2023. His scholarly work examines significant philosophical topics, including the existence of widespread moral and political disagreement, moral nihilism, existential risk, political partisanship, and the nature of intellectual courage. His work has been published in prominent journals such as the Journal of Philosophy, Philosophical Studies, and Oxford Studies in Metaethics, among others.
