Jennifer Allison is an experienced lecturer specializing in U.S. legal research and substantive law courses. She served as a librarian for Foreign, Comparative, and International Law at Pepperdine Law School Library from 2007 to 2012, and subsequently at Harvard Law School Library from 2012 to 2022. In her career in law librarianship, she has taken on responsibilities in public services and collection development, teaching U.S. legal research to J.D. and LL.M. students and conducting library training sessions and workshops on topics such as foreign and international law research, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and U.S. legal citation. Before joining Penn State Dickinson Law as an adjunct professor, she taught at the University of New Hampshire (1L Legal Research) and Northeastern University (Introduction to U.S. Constitutional Law for LL.M. Students). Professor Allison holds a Juris Doctor from Pepperdine Law School (2007), a Master’s in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University (2010), and an LL.M. in German Law from the University of Würzburg (2018). Her LL.M. thesis focuses on the protection of fundamental rights under the German Basic Law, particularly regarding private actors performing public functions. Additionally, she has taught in the Foreign Law Languages Department at the University of Würzburg, offering courses in legal English and U.S. substantive law. Her scholarly interests encompass social justice, critical legal studies, the intersection of law and language, and the acculturation process of international students.
