Doug Lasdon is the Executive Director of the Urban Justice Center in New York City, which he founded in 1984 as a one-person operation in a burned-out building in East Harlem. The organization aims to provide critical legal services to New York City's underserved populations, particularly single, homeless adults. Doug's commitment to accessible client services has seen him conducting outreach through legal clinics directly in soup kitchens. Under his leadership, the Urban Justice Center has significantly expanded in size, scope, and influence while maintaining its core mission of assisting those at the farthest margins of society. In addition to leading the agency, Doug continues to represent individual clients and engage in impact litigation. Before founding the Urban Justice Center, he served as a Fellow and Staff Attorney at Covenant House in New York City. Doug has also been an adjunct faculty member at New York University since 1985 and has acted as a consultant for the World Bank. He is a Wasserstein Fellow at Harvard Law School and is a graduate of Cornell Law School and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
