Dr. Beth Lyon

Biography

Beth Lyon is a Clinical Professor of Law at Cornell Law School, where she serves as the Associate Dean for Experiential Education and the Clinical Program Director. She founded the Farmworker Legal Assistance Clinic and co-founded the Low-Income Taxpayer Law Accounting Practicum. Her areas of focus include domestic and international migrant farmworker rights, language access to justice, and the provision of legal services to rural minorities. Lyon received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her M.S. from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She was a Ford Foundation Fellow working in Lima, Peru with the Comisión Andina de Juristas. Lyon has published various academic works related to her field, including contributions to books and articles in journals discussing law and policy.
