Biography

Bhattacharyya Lab studies the molecular mechanisms of kinase signaling, with a special emphasis on context learning and memory in neuropathological conditions. Moitrayee Bhattacharyya obtained her PhD in Computational Biophysics from the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, where she utilized molecular dynamics simulations and graph theory to study allosteric communication in protein complexes of RNA/DNA. She transitioned to experimental biology during her postdoctoral studies at the University of California, Berkeley, as a Human Frontier Science Program Long Term Fellow. Her research involves an integration of structural biology, single-molecule microscopy, native mass spectrometry, and computational techniques to investigate the molecular mechanisms governing the regulation of calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase, which are critical for learning and memory. The Bhattacharyya Lab employs an integrative approach to enhance our understanding of cellular signaling's molecular mechanisms through both experimental and computational methods.
