Biography

Hayley Crowell is a Lecturer in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Biology from California Polytechnic State University, and a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Michigan. Her research interests focus on museum collections, color evolution, herpetology, and thermal ecology. Through hands-on exhibits and community outreach, Crowell engages K-12 students in the biological sciences, promoting education and awareness of local biodiversity. She is dedicated to fostering connections between academic research and community involvement, particularly through organizing workshops and events within her department. Crowell's commitment to enhancing educational experiences is evident in her contributions to various outreach programs aimed at inspiring the next generation of scientists and connecting communities with science.
