Biography

Rebecca Lemon is a Professor at the University of Southern California specializing in Renaissance literature with a focus on theatre, law, political philosophy, and early modern addictions. She received her Ph.D. in Renaissance Literature and Culture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research encompasses a wide array of topics, including gender studies and the role of addiction in early modern England, as seen in her book 'Addiction Devotion Early Modern England' which explores the intersection of addiction and devotion in sixteenth-century culture. Lemon has authored several critical works, including 'King Richard III: Language Writing' and 'Treason Words: Literature, Law, Rebellion in Early Modern England'. She has also co-edited the 'Blackwell Companion Bible and English Literature', showcasing the Bible's influence on English literature. In addition to her research, she has received numerous awards, including the Roma Gill Prize and the PCCBS Biennial article prize. Lemon actively participates in academic committees and has served as an associate editor and editorial board member for various literary journals and anthologies.
