Jane Guerin, attorney mediator, hails from a family of judges and lawyers, and opted to forgo the courtroom for the classroom. Initially joining the UCLA Anderson faculty in 1989 to complement her corporate law practice, she realized that teaching fulfilled her intellectual stimulation and, importantly, her desire to inspire students and provide the best educational experience possible. Over the years, she has been asked to teach graduate business law classes, eventually teaching in graduate programs. In 2005, she was asked to develop and teach a course on nonprofit law management, a requirement for the Social Impact Specialization. Guerin is known for using her real-world experience as an attorney to make her classes relevant and stimulating. She serves as a Faculty Advisor for the Applied Management Research MBA field study program and instructs in Anderson's Strategic Management Research program. In addition to her work at UCLA, she maintains a law office specializing in nonprofit organizations and serves as a mediator in employment and corporate partnership disputes.
