Biography

B. Star Hampton, MD, FACOG, is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medical Science at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. As a Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, she has made significant contributions to the training and education of future medical professionals. Dr. Hampton completed her Medical Degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, followed by a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at New York University. With a strong commitment to clinical urogynecologic research and medical education, she has authored over 60 manuscripts and has held leadership positions in national organizations such as the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons and the American Urogynecologic Society. Dr. Hampton has been influential in shaping Ob/Gyn medical education on a national level and has won numerous teaching awards. A recognized leader in her field, she is dedicated to global health initiatives and leads a team that travels annually to sub-Saharan Africa to provide education and perform obstetric fistula repairs.
