Molly Hales, MD, PhD, is a dermatologist providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of skin conditions. She has a special interest in hidradenitis suppurativa and chronic inflammatory skin disorders, including atopic dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. Additionally, Dr. Hales treats patients with acne and pigmentary conditions like vitiligo, and she performs skin exams to detect and treat skin cancer lesions. Dr. Hales is dedicated to providing dermatologic care to LGBTQ+ and sexual and gender minority communities. Known for her warm, patient-centered approach, Dr. Hales takes time to listen to her patients, answering questions in clear, easy-to-understand language, and works collaboratively to create care plans that are suitable for them. Her goal is to alleviate worries, improve quality of life, and instill confidence in her patients. In her clinical practice, Dr. Hales conducts qualitative mixed-methods research aimed at exploring people's experiences with skin health and access to care. Recent projects have examined youth skincare routines on TikTok and investigated barriers to medical care for patients living with severe obesity. Currently, her work focuses on decreasing the delay in diagnosis of hidradenitis suppurativa and improving early detection and outcomes for patients with this often-misunderstood condition.
