Biography

Anne Danielson-Francois is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She earned her Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona in 2002. Her research focuses on bridges between ecology and evolution, particularly in the area of animal behavior. Dr. Danielson-Francois explores sexual selection and its effects on sperm competition, as well as genetic variation in mating behavior within natural populations. Her work also investigates the impact of urbanization on arthropods and riparian ecosystems. She has published extensively in the field, contributing to notable works such as 'Behavioral Genetics: Nature Nurture' and has been recognized with several awards including the University of Michigan-Dearborn Undergraduate Research Summer Fellowships and the Outstanding Teaching Award in 1997. Her teaching areas include Biological Sciences and the Master of Science in Environmental Science, highlighting her commitment to education and research in biological disciplines.
