Dr. Jolynn Dellinger

Biography

Jolynn Dellinger is a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law, with extensive experience in law and legal education. Before her current role, she worked as a staff attorney for Judge W. Earl Britt at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina from 1998 to 2007. She also served as a Bristow Fellow in the Solicitor General’s Office at the U.S. Department of Justice during 1994-1995, and clerked for Judge Francis D. Murnaghan, Jr. at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit from 1993 to 1994. In addition to her legal practice in law firms in Washington, D.C. and North Carolina, she has taught Family Law and Legal Writing at Duke Law School and the University of North Carolina School of Law. Dellinger received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Columbia University in 1989, focusing on Religion and Women's Studies, and earned her Juris Doctor from Duke Law School in 1993, where she graduated Order of the Coif and served as an editor for the Duke Law Journal. She also holds a Master's degree in Humanities/Women’s Studies from Duke University, obtained in 1993.
