Elena O. Siegel, Ph.D., R.N. is an Associate Professor Emeritus at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis and serves as the Associate Director of the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators. With a rich background combining nursing, healthcare systems, and business finance, Siegel has developed a research focus aimed at enhancing the capacity of nursing home management teams to foster quality and value in care settings. Her notable work includes research funded by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, focusing on the development of test guidelines for nursing directors concerning the management of nursing practice and delegation. Siegel has also undertaken extensive research into quality improvement strategies in nursing homes. Prior to her tenure at UC Davis, she was an assistant professor at the Oregon Health Science University School of Nursing, where she played a key role in curriculum development for advanced nursing practice courses. She has earned several scholarships and fellowships, including recognition from the John Hartford Foundation for her contributions to gerontological nursing education.
