Biography

John S. Elson is a Professor Emeritus at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, with a distinguished career that spans several decades. He has been a member of the faculty since 1976, focusing on clinical practice, civil rights litigation, civil procedure, and trial practice. His research interests include litigation education, civil rights, and attorney-client relations. Over the years, he has argued cases before the Supreme Court of the United States and has been instrumental in law reform litigation, expanding rights for prisoners, students, and clients involved in divorce cases.
