Biography

Sarah C. W. Baker is a Clinical Professor of Law at Duke University School of Law, where she has been part of the faculty since 2011. She specializes in legal analysis, research writing, and has a strong background in oral advocacy. Before joining the academic world, Baker practiced law and was an associate in the litigation and employment groups at Smith, Anderson, Blount & Dorsett in Raleigh, North Carolina. In her legal practice, she was a member of litigation teams dealing with complex commercial cases and provided counsel on labor and employment issues. Baker completed her Juris Doctor at Duke Law School, graduating with honors in 2006, where she also contributed as Note Editor for the Duke Law Journal and was involved with the Moot Court Board. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2001 from the University of Virginia, where she was recognized as a Jefferson Scholar and an Echols Scholar. Baker has organized seminars focusing on gender law and has actively participated in various educational initiatives within the law school community.
