Laura W. Synnott is an Associate Teaching Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College, specializing in Health Care Policy Management. She teaches graduate students project management strategies, including an advanced capstone course on managing mergers and alliances for those enrolled in the Master of Medical Management degree program. From 2004 to 2008, Laura served as the Executive Director of Health Care Programs at Heinz College, overseeing various master's degree programs. In addition to her academic role, Laura is the founder and principal of a management consulting firm that offers seminars and coaching in operations and project management strategy development. With over thirty-five years of executive management consulting experience, primarily focusing on health care organizations, she has held significant roles, including vice president of hospital operations. Laura has also been actively involved with the Presbyterian SeniorCare Network, serving as chair of their Board of Directors and advising entrepreneurs on governance and operational excellence. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has participated in various leadership initiatives, including the Project Management Institute and the Scrum Alliance.
