Jennifer L. Behrens is the Associate Director of Administration and Scholarship at the Goodson Law Library and a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law. She began her role in 2019 after serving as the Reference Librarian and Head of Reference Services. Behrens oversees the library's scholarly initiatives and the Acquisitions department. In her teaching role, she regularly instructs JD and LLM students in legal research and legal research writing courses. Previously, she taught advanced research topics and law office technology. Behrens earned her J.D. and M.L.S. from the University at Buffalo and holds a B.A. in English from Daemen College. Before joining Duke Law in August 2006, she spent several years in public and academic libraries, including the Charles B. Sears Law Library at the University at Buffalo. Behrens is a member of the New York State bar and is active in several professional organizations including the American Association of Law Libraries and the North Carolina Library Association. Her publications have appeared in notable journals and she is the author of a CALI legal research tutorial that provides current awareness alerting services. Her research interests encompass legal technology, legal research, legal history, law literature, and intellectual property.
