Gary C. McCord, MD, is a Senior Associate Dean in Student Affairs at the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine, Texas A&M University. He holds a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, earned in 1983. An accomplished board-certified radiologist, Dr. McCord has been involved in the teaching faculty and is a full-time participant in medical gross anatomy and neuroscience courses within the Department of Neuroscience & Experimental Therapeutics. His primary research interests are centered on medical education, particularly focusing on the determinants of licensure exam performance. Dr. McCord has held a variety of leadership roles and is also known for his service as a reviewer for anatomy-based journals. His dedication to education has earned him multiple awards, including the Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award and the Distinguished Teaching Award from Texas A&M Health Science Center, reflecting his commitment to excellence in teaching and student support.
