Rebekah Heckmann is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology at Yale School of Medicine. She is board certified in emergency medicine, addiction medicine, and pain medicine. Dr. Heckmann completed her residency in emergency medicine at the University of Washington, where she also served as chief resident. Following her residency, she pursued a health policy research fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Heckmann has extensive experience in health policy analysis and public health systems, emphasizing quantitative social science methods and system dynamics modeling in her research. Her focus lies in advocating for evidence-based health policies and understanding the implications of chronic pain on patients' lives. Dr. Heckmann completed her fellowship in interventional pain medicine at the University of Michigan and holds degrees in public health from Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, as well as a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
