Dr. Jacquie Green is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Victoria. With a focus on Indigenous child welfare policy and practice, she integrates Indigenous knowledge philosophies into her teaching and research. Green's work emphasizes the importance of culturally informed practices in addressing the over-representation of Indigenous youth in British Columbia's child welfare system. As a project manager for the Indigenous Child Welfare Research Network, she has been pivotal in facilitating the development of research practices that leverage Indigenous cultural teachings. Green co-developed a specialized program within the School of Social Work that allows students to explore their own cultural knowledge and incorporate it into their research in social work. Through her commitment to creating space for Indigenous voices in academia, she has contributed significantly to policy development and educational frameworks benefiting Indigenous communities.
